AFR 165 SB Ford Renegade Series Street Head

For the ultimate small block Ford street car, you've got to check out Airflow Research's "Renegade Series" 165cc emissions legal aluminum cylinder heads. Unlike some aftermarket heads, AFRs performance cylinder heads are designed to fit all your stock factory components. No special parts are required.

Stainless steel 1.900" intake valve and 1.600" exhaust valves with 8mm valve stems keep the valvetrain light and dependable. The dual quench 60cc combustion chambers are standard equipment. With their fully CNC ported, high velocity 165cc intake runners and 68cc exhaust ports, these AFR's Renegade Series 165 heads are a perfect fit for street and track 289 and 302 engines operating from idle to 6000 RPM.

The #1472 cylinder head castings feature AFR's traditional extra thick decks making these heads ideal for mild street/track projects. Pedestal mount rockers are required on these castings. These #1472 heads will accept stock or aftermarket rail rocker arms.

NOTE: 1986 5.0L must have pistons notched for clearance.

NOTE: Modern hydraulic roller camshaft profiles will typically experience valve float at 6000-6200 RPM with the standard valve springs because of their fast ramp rates and higher valve lift. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the optional higher pressure dual valve springs to reduce chances of valve float associated with 6200 RPM or higher. We can also fit your heads with PAC Racing, Lunati or our own severe duty springs for an additional cost.
