For the ultimate small block Ford street & track project, you've got to check out AFR's 185cc emissions legal aluminum cylinder heads. Unlike some aftermarket heads, AFRs performance cylinder heads are designed to fit all your stock components. No special parts are required.
Lightweight stainless steel 2.020" intake and 1.600" exhaust valves with 8mm valve stems coupled with profiles 60cc combustion chambers as standard equipment. Fully CNC ported 185cc intake runner volume and 70cc exhaust ports for maximum air flow. AFR's 185 "Renegade" heads are a perfect fit for 302-355 cubic inch engines operating from 1600 to 6400 RPM depending on peripherals. The larger 2.020" intake valves will require aftermarket pistons or flycutting for clearance.
These castings feature AFR's traditional 3/4" thick head deck make these heads ideal for nitrous or forced induction applications. These cylinder heads are designed for stock style pedestal rail rocker arms only.
NOTE: Stock 5.0L and 5.8L engines must have pistons notched for clearance.
NOTE: Modern hydraulic roller camshaft profiles will typically experience valve float at 6000-6200 RPM with the standard valve springs because of their fast ramp rates and higher valve lift. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the optional higher pressure dual valve springs to reduce chances of valve float associated with 6200 RPM or higher. We can also fit your heads with PAC Racing, Lunati or our own severe duty springs for an additional cost.
