The Ultimate Bolt-on Emissions Legal Street Weapon

These "mid-range" street legal small block Chevrolet cylinder heads feature high flow and velocity 195cc intake ports and a highly efficient L98 angle spark plug location. These AFR #1038 cylinder heads feature a 75cc combustion chambers, 64cc exhaust ports and a 3/4” thick head deck which is ideal for nitrous or blower applications. Exhaust port is raised .100" over GM L98 cylinder heads. Standard valvetrain consists of lightweight 8mm stem valves with 2.050" diameter intake and 1.600" exhaust coupled with AFR’s hardened ductile iron interlocking valve seats.

The exceptional flow characteristics, ideal operating range of 2000 RPM to 6500 RPM depending on peripherals. The OEM style 23° valve angle and standard valve spacing make this the perfect street head for 350 to 400 cubic inch engines using stock or aftermarket blocks. No special parts are required. Dual valve cover bolt pattern is standard.

NOTE: Modern hydraulic roller cams typically experience valve float at 6200-6400 RPM because of their fast ramp rates. We suggest you upgrade your springs to AFR part #8605 or the FTI/PAC Racing 1200X series springs with higher spring pressures. All our racing applications can use AFR's patented “Hydra Rev Kit” to reduce chances of valve float associated with 6500 or higher RPM.
