AFR 227 SB Chevy "Competition" Series Cylinder Head - (65cc)
Proven Design - Featuring 60/40 Valve Spacing
These AFR 227 "Competition Series" small block Chevrolet cylinder heads are 100% CNC ported with finer machine levels and improved port-shaped details for optimum flow characteristics from the 227cc intake runners, 80cc exhaust ports and 65cc combustion chambers. The exhaust port is raised .25" over factory GM L-98 cylinder head.
With the trademark AFR 3/4” thick head deck, these castings are ideal for nitrous or blower applications. Standard valves are lightweight 2.100" intake and 1.600" exhaust valve diameters with 8mm valve stems. Hardened ductile iron interlocking valve seats. These AFR 227cc "Competition" series heads have a non-stock 60/40 valve spacing so piston valve pockets must be checked and verified.
The AFR 1121 cylinder heads feature standard center port exhaust locations. Jomar offset stud girdles are the only special parts required. Requires specific shaft mount rockers or .050" offset rocker arms for durability and reliability of valvetrain components. The .050" offset the intake rocker arm will be at a slight angle and the roller tip will not be perfectly parallel or centered on the valve tip. Not recommended for street use, unless shaft mount rocker is used.
The exceptional flow characteristics and 23° valve angle make this the perfect head for 355 to 434+ cubic inch engines in drag cars, sprint cars and late model oval track power plants operating from 4500 RPM and up.
