For the maximum high performing street/track LS aluminum cylinder head, Air Flow Research's all new 230cc are a great match. Specifically designed for 4.00"+ bore 1997 to present Gen-3 Corvettes, Camaros, GTOs and GM trucks. AFR’s LS 230 Mongoose cylinder heads are a direct bolt on and no special parts are required.
AFR’s LS 230 Mongoose cylinder heads offer unmatched flow performance for the cross section and port volume. These 230cc intake port, medium bore cylinder heads are ideal for serious, naturally aspirated 362 to 408 cubic inch engines. Also a great choice for a high RPM, big horsepower 6.0L combination when matched to the correct peripherals.
These LS heads feature 2.080" intake and 1.600" exhaust diameter valves with AFR’s iron ductile interlocking valve seats. An exclusive new 62cc combustion chamber design with double quench pads help the LS generate huge low and mid lift airflow numbers. Structural features like AFR’s trademark 3/4” thick head deck, reinforced rocker stud bosses and thick wall runners provide unparalleled durability
The AFR 1610 valvetrain consists of the severe duty #8019 valve springs.
