For the maximum high performing street/strip LS1-LS6 aluminum cylinder heads Airflow Research's 230cc "small bore" Mongoose heads are a great match for your build. Specifically designed for 3.900" bore 1997 to present GEN-3 Corvettes, Camaros and GM trucks. AFR’s LS 230 Mongoose cylinder head offers unmatched flow performance for the cross section and volume. AFR’s LS 230 cylinder head is a direct bolt on and no special parts are required.
The AFR 1660 LS cylinder heads feature 2.080" intake and 1.600" exhaust diameter valves with iron ductile interlocking valve seats. These 230cc small bore cylinder heads are ideal for serious, naturally aspirated 370 to 383 cubic inch engines. Also a great choice for a high RPM, big horsepower 346 combination when matched to the correct peripherals. If you have a serious forced induction LS1 powerplant, this is the large valve, big runner head for your beast. Due to the size of the intake valves, piston to valve clearance must be checked and verified with most camshaft profiles.
Structural features like AFR’s trademark 3/4” thick head deck, reinforced rocker stud bosses and thick wall runners provide unparalleled durability. An exclusive new 65cc combustion chamber design with double quench pads help the small bore LS engines generate huge low and mid lift air flow numbers.
The AFR 1660 valvetrain consists of the severe duty #8019 valve springs.
