These Airflow Research LT4 "Competition Series" small block Chevy aluminum cylinder heads feature 195cc intake runners, 65cc combustion chambers and 64cc exhaust ports. Also included with these castings is the modern angle spark plug location in the combustion chamber. The AFR 1039-716 cylinder heads feature standard 3/4" thick head deck surface is ideal for nitrous or blower applications. Standard valves are lightweight 2.080" intake and 1.600" exhaust diameter valves with 8mm valve stems. AFR’s hardened ductile iron interlocking valve seats for longevity.
The exceptional flow characteristics, ideal operating range of 2500 RPM to 6500+ RPM, these are a stout cylinder head package for dual purpose combinations. Higher RPM ranges possible depending on combination of valvetrain peripherals. Factory 23° valve angle and standard valve spacing make this the perfect street head for 350 to 383+ cubic inch engines. Exhaust port is raised .10" over stock GM L98 cylinder heads.
These LT1/LT4 heads are for the Gen II reversed cooled engines from 1992-1997 and are machined to accept both center bolt and perimeter bolt valve covers. Designed specifically for 1996 Corvettes or LT4 manifold users. No special parts are required.
AFR 8019 severe duty valve springs standard. Optional valvetrain components are available.

NOTE: Hydraulic roller cams typically experience valve float at 6200-6400 RPM because of their fast ramp rates. We suggest you upgrade your springs to one of our optional PAC Racing 1200 series kits to reduce chances of valve float associated with high RPM combinations. We will work with you to make sure your valvetrain matches the camshaft profile.
