The Comp Cams tool steel retainers offer all the strength properties of a traditional chromemoly steel retainer but are specially designed and tooled to reduce weight. Weighing approximately one third less than chromemoly steel retainers and only marginally heavier than titanium, tool steel retainers have exceptional strength and wear characteristics.
These retainers have a 7° lock angle, designed to fit 11/32" stems and provide the best of all valvetrain benefits: light weight, exceptional strength and wear characteristics. Approximately 33% lighter than conventional chromemoly steel retainers and only 2-4 grams nominally heavier than titanium. They are made from high-grade tool steel, making them able to withstand even the most demanding race applications. Developed using latest FEA and CAD software, these retainers are CNC-machined for consistent quality and Spintron®-tested to extreme RPM.
