FTI-GEN2B Dual Valve Spring Kit
The proper valve spring kit is one of the most important pieces of a performance engine. Serious street machines, weekend racers and engine builders of performance cylinder heads now have a heavy duty usage, dual valve spring, steel valve spring retainer, hardened valve lock and viton valve seal kit that safely extends engine RPM and boosts performance capability.
This custom built AFR 8017 spring based valvetrain kit features precision wound, dual valve springs with the required seat and open load pressure plus total spring travel to accommodate camshafts with modern hydraulic and flat tappet camshaft lobes with gross valve lifts up to .600”, depending on the installed height. The springs contained in each kit are matched and supplied components are ready to install without machining. Also included are chromemoly spring retainers, machined spring locators, seven degree valve locks and viton valve stem seals.
The GEN2B valve spring kit utilizes a medium duty valve spring, designed as a lightweight alternative to the heavy, large diameter dual spring kits used in most aftermarket cylinder heads. Will fit most aftermarket cylinder heads with 1.300" or larger diameter spring pockets.
HOW TO ORDER:
1) Choose your valve stem diameter: 11/32" or 5/16" or 8mm
2) Choose your valve seal diameter: .500" or .531" guide top
3) Choose your valve guide diameter: .500" or .563" guide base
The standard spring kit contains lightweight chromemoly retainers but you can upgrade to the optional titanium or tool steel retainers in most applications. Certain aftermarket cylinder heads may require a custom built version of this kit. Email for more information on custom cylinder head applications.
