Medium Intake Port Big Block FE Cylinder Heads
The Edelbrock #60065 Performer RPM cylinder head is designed for use with 1961-76 390-427-428 Ford applications. Edelbrock Performer RPM head is perfect for street performance, daily drivers, street rods and muscle cars where seat-of-the-pants performance is needed. This cylinder head delivers great throttle response and power from 1500 to 6500 RPM. They also feature the highest quality intake and exhaust valves and valve springs. For use on pre-pollution controlled vehicles only.
The 428 Cobra Jet-sized valves promote excellent flow for streetable power. Rocker shaft stud kit #6009 provides better rocker shaft retention and is highly recommended for use with Edelbrock FE heads. It eliminates wearing of the threads and the possibility of bottoming the rocker shaft bolts in the head. Match with Edelbrock head gasket sets. 390 GT exhaust will not fit. Recommended spark plugs are Champion RC12YC or equivalent 14mm x 3/4" reach with flat gasket seat
Generally, the Edelbrock Performer RPM FE cylinder heads are similar in design to Ford 427 "Medium Riser" cylinder heads. The deck, intake flange, exhaust flange and valve cover flange are in the stock locations. Spark plug location and angle is the same as stock. Intake and exhaust port flange openings are the same as a 427 Ford "Medium Riser" head. The intake flange is compatible with our Performer RPM FE intake manifold #7105, Victor intake manifolds #2936 as well as 427 Medium Riser and 428 CJ/SCJ/Police Interceptor intake manifolds or intake manifolds with a stock port exits no larger than 1.94” x 1.24”.
These Performer RPM FE cylinder heads are "not" compatible with 427 High Riser, Low Riser and "Tunnel Port" intake manifolds or any manifold with a stock port exit larger than 1.94” x 1.24” dimensions.

NOTE: Modern hydraulic roller camshaft profiles will typically experience valve float at 6000-6200 RPM with the standard valve springs because of their fast ramp rates and higher valve lift. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the optional higher pressure dual valve springs to reduce chances of valve float associated with 6200 RPM or higher. We can also fit your heads with PAC Racing, Comp Cams or our own severe duty springs for an additional cost. High RPM applications should also use tool steel or titanium retainers.
